I heart Kirsten

I'm in love...

...with this woman. We celebrate 10 years of wedded bliss in January. I can honestly say that I love her so much more now than I did 10 years ago. She's a fabulous woman, wife, friend and mother. God has been good to me.

Another one

We found out on Monday that our newest child will most likely be a boy.  We also found out that he has a face and a foot.  We have pictures below to prove it.  My wife is a good woman.  She has to put up lots o' Black boys (me and the dog included).  

Garbage Days (Kirsten's blog)

Tuesday and Friday mornings are exceptionally happy times in the Black house. Why, you might ask? Well, those are the mornings the garbage truck passes our house, not once, but twice! Usually, shortly after breakfast, we hear the low rumble of the engine of the garbage truck. All three boys race to the back window, climb up onto the bench, and wait in eager anticipation for the garbage truck to pass down the alley. Then, the second the truck is out of sight, they race to the front window, going through the same process to watch as the garbage truck passes by the front of the house. Now, I'm not absolutely certain that Obed actually understands what all the excitement is about... but he does get excessively excited - mostly spurred on by the excitement of the brothers. The greatest joy comes when the garbage men riding on the back wave back. It doesn't happen every day... but when it does, much celebrating occurs!

My wife and blogs

I love my wife! She is an amazing woman and I do not deserve her. Over the years I have tried to get her to post her thoughts, comments and humor on a blog. She never agreed to jump on the wagon...until now. To be honest I guess she didn't really agree to do anything with a blog. Here's how it went down - we were talking last night about the funny things our boys say. Kirsten said "that's why I wish I had a blog, so I could post these funny things." I jumped on the idea, created a blog and signed her up with an account. I have posted the first item on the blog to get her going. It's a repeat from something I posted earlier this week. If you know Kirsten and would like here to follow through with my idea - go to the blog and let her know you want to read what she has to say. She is so amazing she deserves to be shared with you.

Happy Mother & Birth Day

Today was a day of celebrations. It was Mother's Day. My wife is by far the best mother in our house and I would say she is the best mother around! She cares for her boys. She serves them. She shepherds their hearts. She makes them great lunches on monkey plates. She is a great mother!
Today was also Ezra's birthday. He is 4 years young today. He was most excited for his birthday. What a great day of celebrations.

Whiskerino is Over!

It all began on November 1st, 2007. We were in the mountains of Montana when I last shaved my face. The hair follicles have been producing for 121 days. Today is the final day of Whiskerino. Click here to see the progress of my beard in 121 photos. I am tracking who looks at my blog. If I see that you actually looked at my pictures I will know that you are very bored!
It was a fun experience. I am thankful my wife is patient with me. She is a good woman!

1.8.08 = 8 years

Today marks 8 years of wedded bliss with my beautiful bedheaded wife. This morning she gave me the fantastic card shown in the picture. She allowed me to post this picture on this blog and also on the Whiskerino page (Whiskerino is an international beard-growing event). My wife is the greatest woman. God knew exactly what I needed when he brought Kirsten Erica into my life. We have had a blast for the last 8 years and my prayer is that we would have 68 more (I would be 100 years young at that point). Today I give thanks for my hot wife.

Incidentally the date today is 1.8.08 and it is our 8 year anniversary. I hope I am not abducted by aliens today.

Strange sightings

Tuesday morning we are going to the hospital to induce labor. Hopefully we will have a baby by the end of the day. It's a good thing we are going tomorrow because we have some questions to ask the doctor about a rash Kirsten has obtained over the last few days.

The rash started on Saturday evening as two blotchy places on the upper abdomen.

Sunday morning Kirsten awoke with the same blotchy places and a large ring around her entire abdomen.
Tonight the rash is quite dark and resembles something quite familiar. I don't know if it is a sign of something to come or if it is just a rash. We will keep you posted here at Pot Calling Kettle or at FOB.

Reason # 284

This is reason 284 why Kirsten is scared to have boys. The list grows as I think of more fun things for our boys to do this summer. When the shorts are wet one can really pick up some speed. No legs were broken and fun was had by all...except Kirsten who watched from the bedroom window.

I love my wife

I have been keeping an ongoing list of reasons why I love my wife. The list continues. She is an amazing woman and I love her more and more every single day!
