You know you're in the middle of nowhere when...

...you drive down your street (in a residential area in the middle of town) and you see this hanging by the sidewalk. Welcome to the middle of nowhere!

The greatest part is that they often have their tongue sticking out. i used to pose by the deer i had killed by also sticking my tongue out.

Yes Dr. Brock the deer was extending the welcome tongue. I tried not to slow down as I walked by because I had my son and dog with me. I didn't want my dog to go over and eat the deer and I certainly did not want my son to watch such a sight.

i thought you were gonna say, "and i didn't want my boy going over and chewing on the dead deer carcass just because the dog did." i actually think it would have been hilarious if the deer owner had come out of their house only to behold a dog chewing and pulling on the deer while you and your son stood there just watching.

This was every winter day in Mississippi when I was growing up...oh, wait...Pontotoc, MS is in the middle of nowhere.

BTW~ I like you site, blog site...but will have to visit when I have more time...gotta run to class.
