Independence...?

Our eldest boy will be two years young on Thursday. Recently he has discovered a bit of independence. For example - last week he had the snot mustache. I asked him to go to the bathroom and get a tissue. He was gone for a few minutes and this is what we discovered...

He has also started asking to help with various chores around the house. He enjoys sweeping and dusting and helping mommy make cookies. This week I asked him to help me set the table for dinner. This was the outcome...

I asked him to rewire the electrical work in our garage before next weekend. We will see what happens. He is so very independent.

oh oh, the table setting looks a bit charismatic. I trust he has been given an assignment to write 1 co 14.40 at least 10,000 times.

Fun stuff! It's very hard to believe he's almost 2 years old!Glad you shared these pics on your blog. Electrical Engineer, Grandpa Black, will be excited to know that the birthday boy is being introduced to electrical experience at this early age! Maybe a volt meter would have been an appropriate b'day gift?? I on the other hand am very proud of the way he set the table. He also does a great job of icing cupcakes! Independence is a good thing.

bring up a child in the way he should go and he'll do it for awhile, take the teens and early twenties off as a rebellious sabattical, but he will eventually return to it for such is the promise of God, penned by solomon, in the book of proverbs.

that's a great picture. Our 2 year old discovered self adhesive stamps...and put enough on a coffee table to actually mail it.
