Is Jesus a penguin?

Thanks to Rick I. for the heads up on a new discovery.

Many of us know that the New Testament speaks of Jesus walking on water. A Florida university professor believes that it was not a miracle at all. Jesus walked on a floating piece of ice.

This morning, The Today Show had a story about this. This guy is a real kook!

Isn't it just easier to say, "The Bible's not true. That didn't happen"? What a joke.

Is there an explanation as to how Peter made it as far as he did out of the boat? Was his doubt a result of thin ice? Dumb. Dumb, dumb, dumb. People are dumb.

Except me.

bryan - i wondered what the explanation was for peter walking on the water as well. maybe he was on ice too but then fell through. it wasn't a faith issue at all, rather it was just bad luck that he stepped on thin ice.

this same guy has an explanation for moses' parting of the sea as well. i wish i was a smart as this guy.

Fun, but Jesus needs to keep his stick on the ice. ;)

I got an IM last night from a friend of mine who was telling me about this. I told her that was old hat, Science proving that Jesus walked on water. I told her that if the barametric pressure was just right and surface tension was just right anyone could do it. That's when she went into a rant about the Gretzkey Jesus and asked why couldnt it just be a miracle. I told her to get a bowl and a paper clip and see if she could float it on the surface (which actually works) she said she didnt want to and didnt need some science experiment to tell her that Jesus walked on water...so after her rant about the show and Ice and all that I said. Yeah, I'm just B.S.ing you, it was a miracle.

Instant Messenger had never been so quiet before.

2 Kings 6:1-7 (KJV)

1 And the sons of the prophets said unto Elisha, Behold now, the place where we dwell with thee is too strait for us. 2 Let us go, we pray thee, unto Jordan, and take thence every man a beam, and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell. And he answered, Go ye. 3 And one said, Be content, I pray thee, and go with thy servants. And he answered, I will go. 4 So he went with them. And when they came to Jordan, they cut down wood. 5 But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water: and he cried, and said, Alas, master! for it was borrowed. 6 And the man of God said, Where fell it? And he shewed him the place. And he cut down a stick, and cast it in thither; and the iron did swim. 7 Therefore said he, Take it up to thee. And he put out his hand, and took it.

I wonder how the professor would explain swimming iron?

Fins?

Somehow the water became more dense than the iron?
